Crossway probably owns the rights to the books it sells, Amazon is just a distributor. Amazon probably has to pay the publisher a set amount for every digital copy it releases, hence the extra charge. Honestly, I believe the fees are due to your ability to make copies and spread the book around. My assumption is they charge the fee to cover some nominal fee they have to pay publishers for offering their book digitally. Most people might be duped for this little ruse.
